How to Humanely Butcher a Rabbit

For years, we taught hands-on Meat Rabbit Processing Workshops and recently created an online version so people everywhere can learn this valuable skill.

Well, it's as simple as this... You can spend weeks watching videos online, yet miss the crucial basics of humane dispatch.

Sadly, about 80% of the butchering videos online are inhumane. For example, the popular “broomstick method” is not humane because the rabbits neck and shoulders are crushed before dislocation. Many people simply don’t know what constitutes humane dispatch - they're just parroting what they've read in books or seen online. And, the few that do teach humane methods, don't give enough info for a beginner to replicate humanely.
